Lectures take place in our dedicated training facility on the Naas Road Dublin 12, just 2 minutes from the Red Cow Roundabout interchange (on the R110 - Naas Road). The role of the lecturer :- To include teaching styles - methods of teaching - presentation skills - communication skills - controlling the learning enviroment.
Developing a course plan :- To include curriculum development - lesson plans - scheme of works - developing teaching notes - using audio / visual aids.
Methods of evaluation :- To include evaluation of learners - evaluation of teaching methods - evaluation of curriculum - designing evaluation form.
College administration :- To include costing of courses - administration costs - promotion and marketing of courses - student charter - health and safety procedures.

On successful completion you will receive the ITEC Lecturing Diploma, an International Qualification which is recognised by all insurers and employers.
There are no end of year exams. Successful completion of the programme is based on attendance at the lectures, submission of seven assignments and completion of approx 50 hours teaching practice (prior teaching experience can be taken into consideration). Seven lectures throughout the year.
You will need to attend the college for seven lectures throughout the year. There is approx 4 weeks between lectures.
The beauty and complementary therapy sectors have seen significant growth over the past five years. Funding has been made available to many organisations, at community level, for delivery of beauty and complementary related programmes. The amount of teaching opportunities, outside of VECs and private colleges, has vastly increased. Out of our current group of teacher trainers, five have already secured employment.
The Irish Academy was established almost 13 years ago and is now synonymous with delivery of quality programmes.
